A Beka Alpha Omega or LifePac?
Hello everyone! He sent me last week and we were trying to decide on homeschooling. Well, it a definite yes. Yeah … (dance) My only problem now is curricular. I've narrowed it down to a Omeha Lifepac Beka or Alpha. I went to a show for the day Beka today and man I really was sold on the DVD package .. would be for the year 1300 for kiddos 2. It is a lot of money. The more I think about it I wonder … It is a lot of money. I previewed some of the DVDs and I'm not sure I like the idea of my kiddos sitting in front of television for learning. But on the other hand, I feel as if things were covered were large and could not teach that way. I feel like I would belittle my kiddos but it also seems very advanced and I know that (after K) are ready for the portion of 1 degree of it. Any ideas would be great! Blessings!
Hi there! I'm so glad you made this decision to homeschool. I will continue praying for you in making decisions like this. I will say that I have explained to her situation and I asked my mother for her opinion before giving my answer. Our family has used both A Beka, and Alpha Omega Lifepac in recent years, so hopefully we can give a good answer. Lifepac I recommend to you and your children. First, is a curriculum Lifepac incredibly cheap, unlike Beka, as we've seen. Lifepac gives you the opportunity to work one on one with you children. This allows you to move quickly if they understand the concepts and are ready to move on. Lifepac a fall is that there are a lot of paperwork to grade. Here's a first hand experiece Lifepac history. My mother used Lifepac for me when I started school. I say this because she was more or less on its own and it was a new homeschool parent. When I entered second grade was very scared because the teacher's manuals are set up completely different and much work is done only for their children. Please try not to make this a fear factor for you. You seem to education home to meet other families in your church who can help you. So, if you encounter a problem, which I doubt, will have at his side. You may find that in a later time and Beka is a good choice for children either. If you like to talk and socialize this might be a better option for them. I would not recommend although until atleast 4 grade. A Beka falls are the price and the amount of paperwork to grade. Now, here is a firsthand story for Beka. My mother has used a DVD in recent Beka two years for my brothers who are now in 3rd and 5th grades. The program found that it was beneficial for the youngest when he was in 2nd. Was quite lost throughout the year and has not really done much better this year either. My other brother, however, loves it. I like it because of the socialization of "" (which is the most social butterfly who never meet!) So basically, I'd recommend the Lifepacs, and if you feel the need to perhaps change their children to a Beka. Oh, and my mom wanted me to talk about. When I was in school, never undstood phonics and education in the home when she started me back to learn quite well with me and finally understood. She basically wanted you to know you never have to worry about not knowing enough to teach their children. Moreover, in my opinion, is more fun with your parents you learn.
